Who We are?

Wellington Intelligence School (WINS), founded in 2013, is a national plus school. Our first school, UEC (Union Education Center), was established in 2003 with just 72 students in Preschool and Tuition.

As the school system developed and enrollment grew, we formally established WINS in 2013 with 121 students. Since then, the school has grown to over 2500 students.

Herick Tanoto

(Class of 2024)

Mechanical Engineering
National Taiwan University

Hi everyone, I’m Herick Tanoto, and I graduated in 2024. I am currently studying Mechanical Engineering at National Taiwan University, where I continue to challenge myself academically and personally. During the summer, I completed an internship to gain real industry experience, and I am now pursuing another opportunity as a CNC engineer to further strengthen my technical skills. After graduation, I plan to continue my studies in Germany to broaden my knowledge and global perspective.

Looking back, school shaped me in many ways. It taught me discipline, consistency, and how to stay strong during challenging times. The lessons I learned there became the foundation that helps me handle university life today.

One thing I truly value is friendship. The friends you have now are priceless. The memories you create together, the laughter, the support during stressful times — these are things you will carry with you for life. Cherish them.

My advice is to start preparing early. Build useful skills, improve your communication, manage your time well, and stay consistent. Your future is built from the habits you form today.

Lee Hua Shen

(Class of 2023)

Culinary Management
Sunway University Kuala Lumpur

Hello Everyone, My name is Lee Hua Shen, but everyone calls me Lee. I graduated from Wellington Intelligence School in June 2023. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Culinary Management at Sunway University Kuala Lumpur. At the moment, I am doing my internship at Barkar, a Michelin restaurant in KL.

I started Primary 4 at Wellington in 2013 — that was 13 years ago. Throughout those years, they were filled with happiness from achievements, laughter from jokes, excitement for new knowledge, stress from deadlines, and, nevertheless, regrets that came too late. I met many wonderful people at school — friends, teachers, and school staff — who taught me how to view the world, from being curious about possibilities to having empathy toward others, and much more.

I failed many subjects back in school. However, with each failure, I questioned myself about why I failed and how I failed. I know I could have aced them, but I took them for granted. Only now do I realize how important the fundamentals and basics that school taught us truly are. Discover what you are interested in, and once you master the basics, you will be amazed at how far you can advance and dive deeper through curiosity and passion.

My message would be: enjoy every moment. Everything is temporary, including happiness and pain. Take your time, and take your shot. You won’t realize how fast time flies. Everything you seek in the future is built by the present moments and shaped by experiences from the past.

Steven Yansen

(Class of 2025)

Business Management
Singapore Management University

Hi, I’m Steven Yansen, a WINS alumnus from the Class of 2025. I am currently pursuing a degree in Business Management at Singapore Management University, with plans to major in Finance and Entrepreneurship—fields I am truly passionate about.

Even after graduating more than six months ago, the memories from WINS remain unforgettable. University life is exciting and unique, but nothing quite replaces the friendships, annual events, and the sense of belonging I experienced in school. The bonds formed there are special—you don’t see the same friends every day in university, and the environment feels different. Most of all, the teachers at WINS were more than educators; they felt like family, offering guidance and care that went beyond the classroom.

University has taught me independence and resilience. I have learned that ultimately, you are responsible for your own growth. While the journey has not always been easy, WINS prepared me well. Through various competitions and organizational involvement, I developed confidence, adaptability, and the courage to leave my mark wherever I go.

To the current students at Wellington, cherish your time in school. Embrace both the highs and the challenges, because this chapter will pass faster than you expect. Build meaningful friendships, stay grateful, and always give your best in everything you do. The experiences and relationships you form now will continue to support you long after graduation.
